Rishikesh has two very different guest crowds. Delhi and Chandigarh friend groups come for rafting on the Shivpuri stretch, a riverside camp or cottage, and a bonfire. Yoga and wellness guests, many from abroad, come to Tapovan and the Laxman Jhula side for a week or more and want quiet, clean rooms, a kitchen and good Wi-Fi. Decide which crowd your property suits and say so in the listing; it saves mismatched bookings.
Families on a Haridwar–Rishikesh pilgrimage are the third group: they want rooms close to the ghats and the Ganga aarti, vegetarian food and easy parking. The town has local restrictions on alcohol and non-vegetarian food in parts of the pilgrimage area, and guests ask about them before booking.
