The two-slot structure, and why it suits Dumas

A 10:00 PM arrival means a group can finish work on Friday, eat in town, drive out late and still have the whole of Saturday at the property and by the sea. The reason to choose Dumas over Kamrej or Sevani is that the day has somewhere to go.
Dumas beach itself is a Surat institution rather than a swimming beach — black sand, a tidal flat that goes a long way out, and a food street that is the actual attraction for most people who go. It works as an evening add-on to a farmhouse day rather than as a destination in itself. The New Dandi side, a little further along, is quieter.
Practically, that means a Dumas booking supports a different shape of day: property in the afternoon, beach and food in the evening, back to the property or home. Groups that book inland belts do not have that option, and for a mixed-age family it is a useful release valve when twelve people have been in one compound since eleven in the morning.
It also means traffic. The Dumas road on a Sunday evening is busy, and a group planning to drive back into the city around eight should expect it.
