It is less obviously the choice if you are two people looking for somewhere quiet, or if you are bringing very young children who need a shallow pool — there is no separate kids' pool here, and the listing says so plainly.
What Gold Valley is like as a base
Gold Valley sits on the Tungarli side of Lonavala, up above the town. The practical consequences are worth knowing before you book, because they cut both ways.
In its favour: you are away from the market crowd and the expressway noise, the views are real rather than a wall, and the temperature is a degree or two lower than in town. In monsoon the whole valley below is green and the cloud comes and goes across it, which is the reason people pay for this pocket rather than for Khandala, which is closer to the highway.
Against it: it is residential. There are houses either side, and that is exactly why the 10:00 PM music rule exists. It is also a climb — the last stretch of road is narrow and steep, and in heavy rain a low car with a full load of luggage will feel it. Arriving in daylight is strongly advisable on a first visit.
For supplies, the Lonavala market is ten to fifteen minutes down. That is close enough to do a run for something forgotten and far enough that you will not do it twice.

Book it for a group of ten to fifteen who want privacy, a pool and a garden, and who are happy for the evening to wind down by ten. If you need a kids' pool, a party that runs late, or bed space for twenty, look elsewhere in the same area — there is enough choice in Lonavala that you do not have to compromise on any of those.
